Customer Review: The Best!
God honest truth, I never saw Amy Tan's praise for this book until it reached my hands. And I have to say, she's right. From the poo eating, to the "armpit piranah's", to the gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous cover! Yes... In truth the cover lured me, and thankfully the contents have proven even more worthy. Especially love all the tricks and tips on flying with your precious baby, and training the little scroundrels. Cheers!

Training Your Dog : The Step-by-Step Manual (Howell Reference Books)

Training Your Dog : The Step-by-Step Manual (Howell Reference Books) Eight carefully planned lessons teach you to apply canine/human learning patterns to train your dog simply, effectively, and permanently.
Customer Review: It really works!!!
Hello! I'm training my Golden Retriever puppy with this book, and Volhard & Fisher's training methods have worked wonders!!! My puppy, at four months of age, has been taught to sit on command, heel on command, and down on command. You can also teach your dog signals for the commands you want them to do, which can come in handy if you're talking on the telephone or chatting with a friend while walking your puppy. The main idea Volhar and Fisher teach you during this book is "positive reinforcement", which is a really handy training method to use. If their methods can work on my stubborn, rambunctious, sly Golden Retriever puppy, this book can definetly perform miracles with YOUR dogs!!!

Outwitting Dogs: Revolutionary Techniques For Dog Training That Work!

Training dogs has traditionally been done by using negative reinforcement and brute force (take the choke collar as an example). But the tide is turning, and Terry Ryan, well-known dog trainer, is at the forefront of a revolution. OUTWITTING DOGS draws on her twentyfive years of hands-on experience helping people understand and train dogs, and solve dog behavior problems using kinder, gentler methods. OUTWITTING DOGS uses more brain than brawn to motivate dog behavior with positive training techniques, and helps readers truly understand the minds of their canine friends (and even enemies).

Chapters cover: . outwitting puppies . housebreaking . curing the chronic chewer . how to cure the leash puller, the dog that jumps on people, the dog that hates to be left alone, the dog that won't come, the dog that barks too much, the biter, the aggressor . how to outwit the neighbor's dog . how to teach your dog tricks . how to outwit dog trainers . and even a chapter on outwitting dogs and kids at the same time, and much more.

No sensible dog owner will want to be without a copy.

I bought this book only because my dog was on the cover. What a thrill to realize that the very key which made my dog such a versatile dog actor was all in the book!!Had a wonderful afternoon of reading
My whole philosophy has always been how i can be smarter than this dog?My goal was to have the dog think she thought of it!Terry lays it all out and it should be required reading for any puppy buyer and especially for the terrier owner!!Though I have worked with dogs in Show biz for thirty years I find this book keeps my thoughts fresh and my dogs working happily!! I keep it handy... Susan Jaffe

Customer Review: It works - It really works!
I want everyone to know that this book works. Our Jack Russell Terrier had benn thrown away by their previous owner and when we found her at the county dump, she was dirty, skittish and had no house manners -if you know what I mean. We cleaned her up, loved on her and started training. She learned everything we taught her except when to let us know she had to pee. This book uses tough love. It said to bring the dog back to the scene of the crime and say the work "SHAME". and immediately put her in her crate and ignore her. Two times we did this and she got it. She learned to go to the door and let us know she needed to go out. Now she stays home all day by herself and she doesn't mess in the house.

There are no bad dogs, there are bad owners. Buy this book and become a good owner. Your dog will love you for it.
