Ready! The Training of the Search and Rescue Dog

Ready! The Training of the Search and Rescue Dog

All America is thrilled by Search and Rescue missions, especially when the well-trained dogs are brought in to save victims of earthquakes, hurricanes and man-made disasters. We watch with fascination and horror as these tales unfold across our TV sets. This is one of the few comprehensive books on the training of SAR dogs. It is a complete approach to training for this type of dog.
Customer Review: Good information - bad pictures
This book offers thorough information about search and rescue work as well as tips for picking, training and handling your SAR dog. Even though it has some nice drawings of SAR work and -dogs from Nina Bondarenko the photographs are bad and quite old. My issue is the fifth printing, published in 2002 and it would have been nice if some recent photographs of better quality could have replaced the original ones from 1994.
All in all a very good and informative book about SAR training, forget most of the photographs.

Customer Review: Koehler Method of Guard Dog Training
An excellent book. I have use it to train my Dobermans and German Shepherds with excellent results. All of my dogs have turned out to be very reliable and well adjusted and have never failed to respond to command. For those who feel that some of the methods are "outdated", consider that almost all police agencies, and the armed forces still use his methods.
